Hello!

I'm Nicole Moscou, and I have been a ballet teacher for over twenty-five years and a studio owner for over twenty. I created Skill Up Ballet Curriculum to help myself stay organized, and it has been a game-changer! I'm excited to share my work with you!

My Story

I built my studio from the ground up, in a small, rural community that had never had a dance studio. Today, it's a thriving studio and a popular place for kids to grow up, and adults to learn to dance as well! Our ballet program is our biggest and most popular program, and I have dancers of all ages and levels.

Before I started using skill cards, I felt like my students didn't really see the vast scope of ballet. They were more likely to come and go, or do it for a few years and then move on to other activities. I had SO much to show them, but they wouldn't stay long enough to find out! After implementing skill cards and coordinating syllabus, my dancers became a lot more self-motivated, and they were peaceful about the process and journey of learning ballet! My upper levels are large classes now, where it used to be just a handful of kids that would stay in ballet past the age of twelve.

While we would be classified as a recreational studio, my students have frequently gone on to dance-related careers. I have former students who are now teachers, professional dancers, or dancing in college programs.

This syllabus will absolutely breathe new life into your ballet program. I know that there are so many great teachers out there, who just get bogged down by the organizing and class planning. Help your students and teachers LOVE ballet again!

How My Syllabus Works

Skill Up Ballet Syllabus consists of seven levels of ballet, from beginners through advanced levels. Ballet 1 is designed for ages 3-5, and Ballet 7 is currently the most advanced level. It is appropriate for recreational studios, competition studios, public school programs, homeschool co-ops...this syllabus can really make your ballet program stand out and get your students excited about ballet! It's also very customizable to your needs and your type of program.

Each level of the syllabus includes:

*A skill card, which lists all of the skills and techniques that are required to pass the level.

*A skill card guide, which makes sure the teacher has the proper expectations and understanding of the level.

*A year's worth of complete lesson plans.

*An evaluation worksheet for exam days.

The syllabus is designed as an online course, and all of the materials you need are downloadable. The course walks you through how to use each part of the syllabus, and helps you with organization and timing. You have the option of purchasing only levels 1-4, levels 5-7, or the full program. There are also payment plans available.

In addition to all of this, you can be a part of my free mentorship group, where you can ask questions and receive guidance if you run into something tricky. I am a firm believer in the idea that we should never stop learning!

Important: This syllabus is designed to be used by teachers who know ballet. This will not teach anyone ballet in general. However, if you are an experienced ballet dancer, this will help you organize your knowledge in a way that creates a quality ballet class and program.
